Reef Diving

Megalodon Divers offers several places to explore reef diving in the world famous paradise of Playa del Carmen. It has the second largest coral reef in the world. Open water diver certification is required and there are many different colorful reefs to explore all year round based on your skill level. Come drift dive with us and see large schools of fish, stingrays, turtles, barracuda, eels, and much more! Max depth on shallow reef dives is 35 feet.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling with Megalodon Divers is the way to observe all underwater life in a natural setting. Snorkeling is fun and relaxing, does not require special training or preparation, and can be enjoyed by all ages who have the ability to swim. Our staff will guide your whole trip and provide all the correct fitting gear necessary, and a briefing before departure of your experience into the crystal clear waters that lie ahead ensuring you are in the best parts of the coral reef to see the wild life including colorful fish, sting rays, eels, and sometimes even turtles!

Cenote Diving

A cenote is a natural pit or sinkhole, resulting from a collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes ground water underneath. Its associated with the Yucatan Peninsula where cenotes were used by the ancient Mayans for sacrificial offerings. Megalodon Divers offers diving and snorkeling in many cenotes in Playa del Carmen for divers of all skill levels.

Wreck Diving

Megalodon Divers offers the thrill of wreck diving at the Mama Vina. This is an old shrimping boat that was intentionally sunk for the fun of divers in 1995. The boat has been growing coral for years creating a beautiful artificial reef to explore. As you descend in a free descent in the blue, creatures typically seen here include lobsters, moray eels. garden eels, stingrays, spotted eagle rays, turtles, and rooms full of schools or silvery fish inside. For the nitrox divers we offer this dive to enjoy the wreck dive as long as possible. Wreck dives are usually around 100 feet and are for advanced divers.

Bull Shark Diving

Megalodon divers offers an extreme scuba diving experience with bull sharks for certified divers that want to experience the most thrilling dive in Playa del Carmen. This unforgettable experience happens every yea around the winter months (December – March) when the water temperatures drop and you an usually see between 2 to 10 bull sharks swimming among you. Diving with bull sharks must be done in a experienced, controlled and safe way, which is why we only send our experienced instructors who follow maximum safety protocols for an absolutely safe shark dive experience. The length of dive is usually and we offer 2 tanks.
